Homage to Frederick Harer
The frame on the portrait of John Hall by Janine Hall is my interpretation of Pennsylvanian frame maker Frederick Harer. Harer produced handmade frames from 1900 – 1945. I have borrowed Harer’s use of incising and punched designs in which he borrowed from Italian frames three centuries earlier. The frame has a 14k white gold over red clay panel with our signature black polish cap and liner.
